IN MY HOME:
REVIEW OF LAST WEEK
I did get a few “extras” done last week. I organized the upper part of my pantry. I had done the bottom section a few weeks ago so it’s fine. I had a few items to throw away but for the most part, everything was okay. I made a list of all the canned goods I had on hand. There were a few surprises. For instance, I had several cans of pineapple, some of which had been pushed to the back of our very deep pantry. I would have guessed I only had two. I got a grocery order a couple of days later so I scratched off the pineapple that was on my order. I also cleaned out and organized the fridge.
On Saturday afternoon, David and I took down the Christmas tree. I never did get around to decorating it for winter OR Valentine’s Day. Oh, well.
David and I always comment on how large our family room looks after we put away the tree. This is when I get the urge to do a thorough cleaning of that room. At the very least, it requires a thorough vacuuming because our tree has glitter on it. Let’s just say that our carpeting looks festive.
THIS WEEK
My household plans this week include a good, basic cleaning. I’m starting to make a list of things to include in my Spring cleaning plan. Speaking of which, I am going to do a Spring Cleaning Challenge in my Facebook group – Make Over Your Life With Dee. If you aren’t a member yet, this is a great time to join. I have a few group challenges planned for 2022 and am open to member suggestions, too.
I’ll get a grocery order on Wednesday. I don’t really need anything but since I’ll be getting groceries for my mom, I’ll likely get a few items for us, too.
WORK
I have another set of minutes to write for our recent HMA Foundation meeting. I’ve done the most important tasks on my list for the nonprofit but I’d like to do some work on the website.
For Life With Dee, I’d like to write 1-2 blog posts this week. I’ve also started scheduling social media posts with the goal of getting all of March done before the end of February. Lent begins March 2nd and I want to use that time to scale WAY back on my time online. I’m hoping I can limit myself to about 10 minutes each day doing a quick check of my pages and groups…just to make sure nothing crazy is going on.
READING
Nothing new to report. I’ve stayed caught up on the daily reading for the Bible and The Daily Stoic. Otherwise, I’ve just read a bit here and there in the others. I’m getting close to finishing!
SELF CARE
I want to continue daily foot care. I also need to give myself a manicure and pedicure.
HEALTH & FITNESS
We are beginning to have the occasional warm and sunny day. Today, for instance. I want to make a point of getting outside on those days. Even if it’s just long enough for a lap or two around our circle driveway. I need sunshine!
FUN ACTIVITIES
This past week I watched “Born Yesterday” with Chris. Great movie! He went to see friends on Saturday so David and I celebrated Valentine’s Day early. He picked up dinner for us and we ate at the table in our family room with candles, wine and music. Afterwards he made us each a cocktail which we enjoyed in the library. We went to bed early – for us! (about 9:45 p.m.) and we watched a movie in bed. We watched “As Good As It Gets” which was excellent.
On Sunday evening we had a Zoom call with good friends. They had had quite an “interesting” afternoon helping someone get much needed mental health care. That’s the sort of thing that is emotionally draining and I think it helped them to have someone to talk to about it. We also chatted a bit about an upcoming trip we are taking together so that was fun.
This week I’ll likely watch a movie with Chris on Thursday, as usual. While looking for a movie for David and I to watch this past weekend I found several we would enjoy together. I think we should watch a movie together every Saturday.
I also want to get back to coloring again. I find it so relaxing.
HABIT OF THE WEEK
I want to develop a mid-day routine. I have morning and evening routines which I find very helpful. I think it would be helpful to have one for the first hour or so after lunch. I’d love to hear about your routines/rituals if you’d like to share.

One more thing before I wrap this up. Do I have any readers here who would be interested in a free webinar about affiliate marketing? It’s being offered by Ultimate Bundles and they always do a great job. It will be offered twice, February 15th or 16th. You can read more about it here:
How to Grow Your Side Hustle Income With Affiliate Marketing
That is my affiliate link. There is no charge for the webinar but if you use my link and later purchase anything, I’ll receive a portion of the purchase price at no charge to you.

Belated happy Valentine’s Day. Hope you and David had a good one.
I can imagine about the carpet. I made a glittery ornament just before Christmas, and hubby swears he’s not gotten all the glitter out of the carpet yet. LOL!
I went through my cupboards last week too, so I now know what I have to put meals together with minimal shopping. Or – in the case of those things I like to keep a few of on hand – what I don’t need to restock just yet.
Anyway, my week looks like this:
Monday: reorganizing things. Why? Because, since I just did host training with the ACB, we need to move my computer so it’s not right beside hubby’s, because of reducing noise from him if I’m hosting calls while he’s using his PC.
Tuesday: participating in a Zoom cooking call (which I now have a tips segment on). Some time with Dad. And a qulling Zoom workshop. Plus, third Covid shot for hubby.
Wednesday: a couple of Zoom calls I like to attend, including one currently running that’s a support group for “The Artists’ Way” (which I’m working my way through along with the group). Should have been my piano lesson too, but I’m doing that solo now because the teacher has given us a way to learn songs besides what she’s teaching us, and insists on only teaching the hymns herself, which I have no desire to learn.
Thursday: recording a couple more things I want to do for my YouTube channel and getting those scheduled. Plus Zoom needle knitting group.
Friday: Zoom book club. And I need to prepare some things I need for the following day’s craft call.
Saturday: a papercrafting Zoom craft call. Plus Zoom kareoke.
Sunday: not sure what my plans are.
And here’s my menu:
Monday: beetroot, cauliflower, baked potato, and green beans.
Tuesday: vegetable stew, and bread.
Wednesday: leftovers from Tuesday.
Thursday & Friday: baked potato with salad.
Saturday: jackfruit sausages, onion gravy, mashed potatoes, and peas.
Sunday: leftovers from Saturday.
