THIS WEEK WITH DEE
This scene is sheer perfection. Ob, how I miss the ocean!
We will be gone Wednesday through Saturday so our menu is rather brief this week. I’ve been wanting BLTs for awhile and had planned to have them Sunday night (last night). However, David and I had late lunches so I moved the BLTs to Monday. I thought I’d have fresh peaches today but they were out. The peaches in our area were destroyed by frost but I’m trying to get some from South Carolina. Hopefully this weekend!
MENU:
Monday…
- BLTs
- coleslaw

- grapes
Tuesday…

- mandarins
Wednesday…

IN MY HOME:
REVIEW OF LAST WEEK
I can’t say that I did much of anything in the house other than the usual upkeep. I do have one very large box of clothing packed up and ready to donate. I’d like to keep finding at least one box a week to declutter.
THIS WEEK
David has another business trip to Houston and then to Vidor, Texas this week. We will leave early Wednesday morning after dropping off one of the cats to be spayed (Chris will pick her up that afternoon). We should be home sometime Saturday evening.
WORK
The annual LWD French Week is coming up next week (July 10-16) so I’ll be working on blog posts for that this week. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some done in the hotel on our trip this week.
READING
I finished “The Custom of the Country” last week as well as an audiobook, “The Clutter Remedy: A Guide to Getting Organized For Those Who Love Their Stuff“.
I’m currently reading this month’s LWD Book Club selection, “Rules For Visiting” and just started You Are Not So Smart: Why You Have Too Many Friends on Facebook, Why Your Memory Is Mostly Fiction, and 46 Other Ways You’re Deluding Yourself as an audiobook on Scribd.
And of course, I’m still reading my usual morning books:
1. The Road to La Papillon: Daily Meditations on True Contentment by Shannon Ables
2. The Living Bible – The Book of Common Prayer daily lectionary readings
3. Rooms of Their Own: Where Great Writers Write by Alex Johnson
SELF CARE
I’m taking some time off from Facebook for the next few weeks. I’ll still manage the LWD page and my groups but that’s all.
I need to give myself a manicure and pedicure before we leave Wednesday.
HEALTH & FITNESS
I’m continuing my morning walks as well as a short exercise routine each morning before I come downstairs. I’ve found that I’m far more likely to do these things if I do them first thing in the morning.
FUN ACTIVITIES
Friday night we had dinner with friends (they leave today for 2 weeks in Europe). We sat out on their back patio until well after midnight just talking and laughing. We always have such a lovely time with them.
I’m hoping David and I will work in a movie or two this week while traveling. There’s not much to do in a hotel room so we might as well get in bed early and watch movies, right?
HABIT OF THE MONTH (July)
I’m leading a creativity challenge in the Life With Dee Facebook group this month. Every day, we will try to do something creative. Your choice! You can draw a picture, color in a coloring book, write a poem, play an instrument, do a craft, knit, crochet, sew, bake a loaf of bread, make homemade jam, or anything else that you find creative and enjoyable. If you aren’t already in the group, here is the link:

I’d love to see pictures of your creative pursuits so feel free to share them in the group or on Instagram and tag me:

I have a tentative menu set up. Suffering from cycle induced headaches this week so it may all go up in smoke and the family may just be getting sandwiches all week lol
Hubby leaves for a 2 week business trip on Sunday so trying to squeeze in as much time as I can with him this week.
Reading wise I’m trying to finish up my 52 in 52 challenge this month. This week it’s Rebecca and Jurassic Park for sure. I have a couple others in mind just not sure yet.
Deanna Piercy says
I do hope your headaches go away!
I read Jurassic Park back in the 90s. I read it in just a day or two! I started it one morning while my son was taking his tennis lesson and I was sitting in the stands waiting for him. I was immediately hooked and couldn’t put it down. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Brian will be home for dinner (with his normal work shift, he works late) on Wed and Thurs. I think we’ll have BLT’s Wed evening. That’s as far as I’ve gotten this week. I’m in a cooking rut!
Safe travels and happy 4th of July.
Deanna Piercy says
We really enjoyed our BLTs this evening. I’m in a bit of a rut, too. After we get back I’d like to spend some time with a few of my cookbooks and try some new recipes.
Happy 4th to you, as well!
