Summer is well and truly upon us, at least here in Oklahoma. We have seen temperatures in the upper 90s and heat indexes well over 100 this past week. Honestly, about now I’d be happy to skip cooking and settle for sandwiches. But our vintage housewives didn’t resort to this very often and I try not to, either.
