IN MY HOME:
REVIEW OF LAST WEEK
You may have noticed I didn’t post last week. We were so busy getting ready for AdaFest on Saturday. I’m proud of the fact I managed to make the bed, do a load of laundry, cook dinner and do the dishes every day. Our event went really well and we are *almost* recovered.
THIS WEEK
My focus this week will include a bit of catching up but no big projects. My birthday is Friday and David is taking me away for a couple of days.
WORK
I have some social media marketing to wrap up for AdaFest and hope to get at least one more blog post done this week.
READING
I’m looking forward to some time spent relaxing and reading this weekend!
SELF CARE
I’m trying to give myself some downtime this week and I’m really looking forward to a couple of days just relaxing in a hotel room this weekend.
HEALTH & FITNESS
This week I’m focusing on getting to bed earlier. I’m pretty tired after the last couple of weeks and I know I could use some more sleep.
FUN ACTIVITIES
There is too much Covid for us to do anything other than stay in our hotel room but room service and movies sounds like fun to me.
HABIT OF THE WEEK
I’m beginning to implement some aspects of “digital minimalism” this week. It’s an ongoing goal of mine and I’m sure I’ll be sharing more in the weeks to come.

bon anniversaire, Mon Amie!
May you safely enjoy all the delicious food and delightful entertainment and quiet times for your special weekend. Your hard work for AdaFest is cause enough for a rest and recovery. I have a new appreciation for the gift of sleep and I consider it my favorite time of the day… The gift of rest, repair, regeneration, and even dreams. I used to think it was such a waste of time. Now I see it as a gift to my spirit, mind, and body. My birthday is Wednesday and I’ll be treating myself to an hour in a salt room (halotherapy).
A neutral gravity chair, ionized mist of Himalayan pink salt, and relaxing spa music. They say an hour in this environment is as good as 3-days at the beach. I see that now there are home versions of inhaling the benefits of Himalayan pink salt. Have a great new year!

Happy birthday! That sounds absolutely heavenly. Where are you doing this? And you are right about sleep, of course. I’ve always thought of it as a waste of time, too. I hate missing out on things. But I need to change my thoughts around this.

I did notice the lack of post, and wondered if it was because of Ada Fest. Happy birthday for Friday, and enjoy your room service and movie time, which sounds like more than fun to me… Sounds like heaven!
We were meant to have an inspection yesterday (Monday) but they had to cancel, so we’re in the process of rearranging it for potentially some time next week. I’d taken the dogs to my Mam’s house before we knew it was cancelled though (planning on going to help her do some things while Kelly dealt with the inspection, since my health issues and inability to be fully vaccinated makes me not want to be here when they come do the inspection) so the dogs got a fun playdate while I helped Mam with a few things. I’ve got stuff happening three evenings this week: Tuesday I have a craft session on Zoom, Wednesday I have roleplaying, and Friday I have book club. Other than that, Sunday hubby is meant to be going to gaming club with my Dad, so I’m hoping to have a quiet afternoon to myself for some quality me time, but we have no other real plans besides the usual day to day stuff.
This week’s menu looks like this:
Monday: chips (fries) and beans.
Tuesday: Lemon and ginger tofu, baked potato, and peas.
Wednesday: leftovers from Tuesday.
Thursday: chickpea sausages, onion gravy, mashed potatoes, and peas.
Friday: leftovers from Thursday.
Saturday: homemade pizza.
Sunday: tofu omelette.

It sounds like you have a really nice week ahead – good balance of activity and quiet time. Thank you for the birthday wishes!
