Thursday Three…

Three reasons I need electricity:

• heat (a fireplace in a room with a vaulted ceiling doesn’t cut it)
• computer (obviously)
• carpet that needs to be vacuumed…desperately!

We had another power outage today. Five hours long. My husband came home and started the generator which allows limited usage of a few electrical items. Like the refrigerator and the fan that is supposed to help distribute heat from the fireplace. I asked him how much power the vacuum used. He checked the booklet that came with the generator. It had a rather lengthy list of household electrical appliances and how many watts each uses. The generator generates a certain number of watts of power and you can use any combination of electrical items as long as they don’t exceed the capacity. Would you believe that no where on that list was a vacuum cleaner??? David says it’s because I am the only person in the world who is concerned with vacuuming during a power outage.
