I heard the U.P.S. truck pulling out of our driveway and went downstairs to see what had been delivered. I had ordered some Community Coffee the other day so I figured that’s what it was. Either that or David had found more pirate jewelry on eBay. I was, instead, surprised to see a package with the return address of our dear friends in New Orleans, Bryan and Debi. I wasn’t expecting anything from them. I brought the package to the kitchen and opened it. This is what was inside:
Written on the back of the painting were these words:
Thank you, Bryan. Both your friendship and the painting are greatly treasured.
*Note: After I photographed the painting, cropped, uploaded to Picasa and then here, I see that Bryan posted a much better photo that he had taken of it. You can see it here. You can also view his page at Fine Art America here.

How wonderful and thoughtful. Brings tears to my eyes, as well.
So happy that you got the painting and it all worked out so well! It looks like you've hung it (hanged it? doh) via the little lacy ribbon that is attached. I wasn't sure if you would like the ribbon or not. Anyway, love y'all and enjoy!
A beautiful painting and very touching. Rest in sweet peace Malory.

Bryan: I currently have it hanging from the decorative plate hanger above my computer so I can see it often. I haven't decided where it's permanent home will be yet but I love the ribbon hanger. In fact, I mentioned that very thing to my mom when I was with her today and how thoughtful it was that you included something pretty and feminine for me. I just can't thank you enough.
Fiona: I'm sorry about your kitty. It's so hard to lose one you've had that long. Those little ones can leave such big holes.
