My husband and I have done quite a bit of decluttering the past few years. All of our usual activities came to a halt with COVID so we found ourselves with some time on our hands. David’s retirement is within sight and with it will come our planned downsizing. That means that 40 years worth of accumulation has to be addressed. I have been watching a LOT of decluttering videos this past year and here are five that I have found helpful. Each of these 5 YouTubers has her own individual approach so you are likely to find at least one whose style resonates with you.
There is power in daily routines and having an evening routine such as this one will help keep clutter at bay. Plus, it is so nice to wake up to a tidy home.
Have you heard of Swedish Death Cleaning? It may sound morbid but it makes a lot of sense, especially for those of us who are getting older. I want to take care of my own things and not leave it for my kids to deal with after I’m gone.
Decluttering doesn’t have to take huge chunks of time. There are things that can be dealt with a few minutes at a time.

Is paper clutter your nemesis? It’s been a huge issue for me but I am slowly getting a handle on it. We have gotten rid of a LOT of paper this past year.
