We’ve been back from New Orleans for two full weeks and I’m just now getting around to sharing a few photos. I’m still dealing with the asthma attack I came home with and we still have one suitcase left to unpack. Yeah, re-entry sucks.
But the trip was well worth it. The weather was glorious:
We had a wonderful time hanging out with friends, listening to music, eating delicious food and simply enjoying the city we love best. Here are a few pictures from our trip.
Jeana braided David’s hair like hers. Aren’t they cute?
David, Jay and Terry – We watched the Saints games both Sundays at Hobnobber’s bar. These three did some pretty hilarious commentary the first game and we enjoyed a potluck lunch here with several friends the second Sunday. Who dat!
Halloween in New Orleans is a blast! I love seeing all the creative costumes. These are our dear friends, Ken and Cindy. Don’t they look awesome?
Just hanging out with my sweetheart
Listening to the blues at the Funky Pirate
David and the guys from the band – Mark, Charles, and Bryan
I can be totally mesmerized by the “Muddy Mississippi”
and love watching the steamboat and other river traffic.
New Orleans residents go all out decorating for Halloween.
This is my favorite picture from the trip. It looks like David and Jay are walking down the street holding hands. They really weren’t – if you look at where their feet are you can tell that Jay is a step ahead of David. But these two have such fun together that this picture cracks me up.
Aside from the special times with friends, my favorite part of the trip was all the live music we got to hear. We have ten musician friends we got to see perform, as well as John Boutte’ (at d.b.a. on Frenchmen Street), Paramore, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, The Gaslight Anthem, Pearl Jam, and Nine Inch Nails at Voodoo Fest. I think I’ll do a post just on the music and put in on my Well-Groomed Hippie blog. When I do, I’ll share the link here.
We also enjoyed some great meals which I’ll share on my Dee’s Kitchen blog. Again, I’ll link it here when I do. Gotta spread the awesome around, right?
Finally, I had said that as soon as I got 500 “likes” on my Tea With Dee Facebook page I would do a giveaway. I met that goal and bought something for the giveaway while in New Orleans. I’ll share more about it here in the next day or two and tell you how you can enter. Stay tuned!
