LWD JULY BOOK CLUB SELECTIONS
- Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy
I’m on a mission to decrease my procrastination tendencies and improve my productivity. Eat That Frog is a classic.
2. The Enchanted April by Elizabeth Von Arnim
As I did last month, I’ve chosen a book I’m reading for another book club. This is one I’ve wanted to read for a long time anyway. After I read it, I plan to watch the movie.
This one is also available free on the Project Gutenberg site.
3. Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Ann Fowler
I hadn’t made my third selection yet when I popped into Hastings last night to pick up a couple of greeting cards. When I noticed this on one of the displays I knew I’d made my choice. That whole “Jazz Age in Paris” thing is right up my alley.

I am reading Enchanted April now… really enjoying it so far.

That’s good to hear. I’m still trying to finish up last month’s books but I’m really looking forward to this one.

Looks like you have some good reading coming up. I was just saying to my son that I’m behind in my normal reading…that all I’ve read is some magazines. Haven’t picked up a book in awhile, which isn’t like me. He said, “That’s because you’re on your phone too much, Mom.” Ouch! But, he’s right. So today when I was at the dentist with him and I was in the waiting room, I started a new book. It’s from 1954 and it’s called, “Kinship With All Life.” Take a look on amazon about it – sounds interesting!

Facebook and other online activities have taken a HUGE chunk out of what used to be time spent reading. This is something I’m trying to change and part of the reason I’m doing these book club posts.
I just looked up the Kinship book. Sounds really interesting! I added it to my wishlist. Let me know what you think after you’ve finished it.

Since it looks like an interesting read, and is free on Project Gutenberg, so I have no excuse not to grab a copy, I’m going to read “The Enchanted April” this month too.
I’m currently jumping between classics, books by self-published authors, and newer traditionally published books, since my main reading goal for this year is to try and read as many as I can of the books I’ve had on my Kindle for ages (with some new to me books thrown in from time to time) and I’m randomly picking which of them to read next. My current pick is the complete works of H P Lovecraft.
Deanna Piercy says
I haven’t read any Lovecraft but it’s been recommended to me. One more for my list. Ha!
Tori says
If you’re anything like me, that to-read list grows as fast as you read books from it. Haha!
Well, at least I can honestly say I always have options for things to read… Even if I don’t always have as much time to read them as I’d like.
Deanna Piercy says
Oh, goodness – yes! My list is VERY long and ever expanding.
