After a trip down Main, we parked the car and went to Papa Gjorgjo’s for dinner. We ended up eating in the Martini Bar and enjoying a nice chat with a couple of people back there. It’s been quite awhile since we’ve eaten there and George, the owner, gave us complimentary crème brûlée for dessert. He makes it himself and it is fabulous.
After dinner, we tried to make one more quick pass down Main but it was packed, bumper to bumper, and the car started to get a little hot just idling. We ended up bypassing the traffic on the adjacent street and made it to the movie a few minutes late. We already had our tickets, though, and it wasn’t full anyway.
It had been years since we’d seen Grease. It’s rather cheesy but still a fun movie. My parents were there, too, and we chatted with them afterwards for a bit. Then, even though it was getting late and David had to be up by 5 a.m. to catch a flight to St. Louis, he decided we should at least stop by the Quality Inn‘s Statesman Lounge for a few minutes to hear Mandala, another musician friend who was performing that night. We’ve apparently embraced the philosophy “We’ll sleep when we’re dead.”. At least this time we only stayed for one set and got home at the “reasonable” hour of midnight.

I used to drag main and go to movies at the McSwain on a regular basis. That's where everyone was. It was the '60's!!!

Sounds like a fun evening. Yeah, you'll have plenty of time to sleep when you're dead. 😉

Betty: It *is* fun. Exhausting, but fun.
Lynn: You lived in Ada? Small world!
Tori: That's what we keep telling ourselves!
