Welcome to Day 3 of our “Fabulous Fall” series. Did you spruce up your front porch or entry yesterday? If so, I’d love to see a picture or even just hear what you did.
Today we turn our attention to cosy comfort. It’s still nice and warm where I live but soon enough we will begin having chilly evenings. I love to curl up with a cosy blanket or afghan and a cup of tea while watching television or listening to the stereo in the evenings. I have at least one blanket or throw within easy reach of every seat in my house – year round, even. I wash the most-used ones periodically throughout the year but I like to gather every single one and wash them right at the beginning of fall.
This is just the first load of blankets. I’ve got another in the dryer and have at least one…maybe two more to do. Yes, I like having LOTS of blankets handy.
Our assignments for Day 3:
- Gather up all the blankets, throws, and afghans you have and give them a good washing. If you have a favorite essential oil, you can add some to the rinse water to add a nice fragrance. After they are clean and dry, place one or two within easy reach of each seating area in your house. Neatly fold and stack extras in a large basket for chilly evenings to come.
- Pick one or more items from the checklist you filled in on Day 1.
Treat of the day:
Is there something you had planned to do during the summer but never got around to? Can you make time to do it now? I wanted to have a picnic but we never did. I’m going to do my best to make that happen one evening next week. We have a nice picnic area just a few miles away. Think of something you’d like to do and make plans to do it within the next few days. Put it on your calendar and then leave me a comment telling me what it is. Maybe it will give me another idea.
Take time to enjoy your day and be sure to check back here again tomorrow for Day 4.

Great ideas! My treat i going to be one more dinner under the patio umbrella that is hung with lights. I shall toast you as I enjoy it.
Deanna Piercy says
Excellent! I raise my glass to you, as well.

As it happens, I just did the rounds on the blankets, so they’re all ready for the coming cold weather, and my plans to curl up with hot tea or cocoa, while I read, watch movies, or listen to music (not that I do a lot of the latter, but still).
As for the picnic… Hubby, one of my brothers, my brother’s girlfriend, my Dad, my Dad’s girlfriend, my Nan (Dad’s Mother) and I had take-out on the beach by moonlight. I think that would count, right?
Deanna Piercy says
Absolutely! You are ahead of the game.
