Welcome to the second week of June’s LWD Grocery Haul series in which I share our weekly grocery purchases, including prices. I’m always curious to see what others purchase and what food prices are in different countries or regions. I hope you are finding this series interesting and helpful.

FEATURED RECIPE…
PREVIOUS GROCERY HAUL POSTS IN THIS SERIES:

We are an ingredient household. On Saturdays, I go to the farmers’ market for vegetables. I buy my eggs from a lady who keeps chickens. She sends them with her daughter who works at the Ace hardware and I pay and pick them up there ($4/doz). Aldi is for cheese, sparkling water, bacon, lunchmeat, crackers and milk. I check the grocery store flyers online to see what meats are on sale. I plan my week based on that. This week, it was chicken hindquarters for 69 cents/lb. Sometimes, Boston butt is 99 cents/lb. We also have seafood a couple of times a week.
Unless there is a jazz band and a dancefloor, I prefer cooking at home instead of restaurants. I have an extensive collection of records and cds, I set a very nice table, and I genuinely like my food (so does Hubby). I have too many cookbooks.
