Welcome to the third week of February’s LWD Grocery Haul series in which I share our weekly grocery purchases, including prices. I’m always curious to see what others purchase and what food prices are in different countries or regions. I hope you are finding this series interesting and helpful.

LWD GROCERY HAUL
February 2025 ~ Week Three
This week we have two grocery hauls of sorts. David went to Pruett’s Saturday to purchase a roast and came home with a lot more – ha! I’ll share his “haul” first and then my Monday order second.
I didn’t do a regular shopping haul on Monday last week because we were out of town Tuesday through Friday. I figured we had enough on hand to get by for the weekend. But David still wanted to cook a roast Sunday so that’s why he went to the store. And apparently chili dogs sounded good to him so that’s we had for lunch Sunday. I’m actually surprised he didn’t come home with a bunch of sweets. 😉

What is the egg situation like in your area? This one store still has a good price on the Equally Yolked brand of free range eggs. Other brands are higher and there are lot of empty spaces in the egg section. I looked online at other stores in our area and they range from around $6-10 a dozen with limited supplies. I suspect we will be dealing with this issue for the foreseeable future as H5N1 (avian flu) continues to spread.
Here are a few articles explaining the issue:

Our weekly menu…
I’m already making a change. Instead of tacos tonight, I’m making a Mexican casserole.

Wow, chili dogs DOES sound good! I haven’t had those in ages. Might have to remedy that soon. I got a dozen eggs the other day at Uptown Grocery (owned by Pruett’s) in Edmond that was like $5.99 but they were Pete and Gerry’s organic eggs. Their supply of regular eggs was very low. I had previously been buying higher-end eggs anyway so it’s not been a shock to me so far. Aldi had them for like $3.99 last week?
I had put Pete and Gerry’s eggs on my shopping list but they were out and substituted the Equally Yolked brand. Which is interesting since they don’t even show those on their website.
David loves chili dogs and I just don’t think to make them very often. I ought to do that for him. It does make an easy weekend lunch.
