I had such a nice Mother’s Day. First of all, David and I spent about 3 hours at my folks’ house Saturday night when we took my mom her Mother’s Day gifts. Sunday morning we went to church then met my parents and the kids for lunch. I had a nice long nap that afternoon and then David and I watched a few episodes of one of our favorite t.v. series. We also spent a leisurely half hour or so relaxing on the porch with Shiloh before we went to bed.
Lisa and Justin sent me the irises in the (poor quality) photo above. They haven’t fully opened yet and I couldn’t find the vase I wanted to put them in so the picture doesn’t do them justice. By tomorrow they should be beautiful. My daughter definitely knows how much her mama loves fresh flowers. She also gave me one of her very nice handmade cards with a lovely handwritten sentiment inside. It was Justin’s birthday, too, so we gave him his gifts at lunch as well.
Last night Chris and his sweet girlfriend, Kadi, brought me the other items shown above. They (meaning, Kadi) picked out several fun makeup and skin care items (eco-friendly, too!). They each wrote the nicest things to me inside their card. They then visited with us for awhile as we all cuddled kittens. At least they understand my cat lady tendencies.
David gave me a beautiful card and as soon as I have the flower beds ready, he’s buying me some rose bushes. Three of mine died during last summer’s brutal weather so I’m happy to get to replace those.
I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. Yesterday was lovely but more importantly, they all demonstrate their love for me on a regular basis. I’m a lucky mama.
