In honor of Memorial Day, I thought I’d share an appropriate memory:
I can remember singing this with friends, particularly on one occasion as we drove up to the mountains (I grew up in California where there actually were real mountains). I don’t recall any of us talking about the lyrics so I’m not sure if it was anything more than a popular song on the radio to most. I, however, remember being struck by the notion that people used violence to win peace. I still am. If you know a soldier or a veteran, give them a hug and thank them for their service. And then let’s insist that our government “bring ’em home”.

It's the theme song from the movie "Billy Jack"… Just an FYI. I don't know if you ever suffered through "Billy Jack" or not.
And I can sing the entire thing, too. 🙂

Thanks for sharing – I'd forgotten about the song. What an appropriate message.
