David and I sat down together last night for our weekly planning session. It’s so helpful to know what the week ahead holds when it comes to planning our menu. We have fewer meetings and appointments this week and he’s just traveling one night. That means I will be cooking a bit more this week.

Dee’s Weekly Menu
Monday
- Brazilian Black Beans (Instant Pot recipe)
- rice
- salad
- cornbread
Tuesday
David will be out of town on business. I’m trying to use up things from the freezer so I’ll probably just make myself a smoothie (lots of frozen bananas in the freezer!).
Wednesday
- Lentil tacos (Instant Pot recipe)
- salad
- chips and salsa
Thursday
This will be our date night. I’m not sure where we will go to eat but I’m thinking it might be nice to go out of town. We’ll see…
Friday
We are planning to go out and listen to live music but we’ll eat dinner at home first.
- roast beef
- mashed potatoes
- carrots
- salad
- homemade bread or rolls
Saturday
I’ll use up the leftover roast and veggies to make:
- vegetable beef soup with dumplings
- salad
Sunday
Our usual – Mexican food after church and save half for dinner.
So tell me, what’s on your menu this week? I’m planning to bake some bread this week – do you ever do that? I’ve gotten out of the habit but there is nothing quite like the smell of bread baking. Yum! I’m also going to try to get some sourdough starter going this week. I let mine die years ago and I miss it.

I’m loving my Instant Pot. If you decide to purchase one, I’d be forever grateful if you’d use my affiliate link. It doesn’t cost you a penny more but I receive a small portion of the purchase price from Amazon. Thank you for supporting Life With Dee!

Thanks for visiting my blog (and for the barbecue sauce recipe!). Your menu sounds delicious!
You’re welcome! Have a beautiful day.
I haven’t baked my own bread in ages, to be honest. I love freshly baked bread, but got out of the habit of making the bread myself. I gave my Dad my bread machine, and baking bread from scratch was really difficult in the place we lived in last because of finding somewhere to put it where it could rise and wouldn’t be in the way. I have a similar problem in this place, so am considering buying a new bread machine. I’m not going to say this will mean I’ll bake all my bread from scratch if I do, but it would certainly happen more if I had one. In the meantime, there’s a bakery just up the road that bakes their bread fresh every day, and they do a great job of it…
If I had a nearby bakery I would probably be less inclined to bake it myself, too. On the other hand, it just makes the house smell so good!
Oh yeah… You can’t beat the smell of baking bread!
Looks like you have had a wonderful week and I would love to be at your table on Friday, it looks delicious. So happy to meet you and looking forward to seeing you again real soon! Hope you have a great weekend!
