This past week I’ve seen two different people mention banana pudding on Facebook and decided I simply must make some this week. I bought bananas and Nilla Wafers after church yesterday (my daughter actually makes her own vanilla wafers for this!) and as soon as the bananas are perfectly ripe I’ll make the pudding – from scratch, of course. I’m not sure which day that will be but probably Wednesday. I love banana pudding!
Monday:
- vegetarian lasagna roll-ups (didn’t end up making this last week)
- salad
- garlic bread
Tuesday:
David will be out of town and I’m helping serve meals at Compassion Outreach. I’ll eat there myself.
Wednesday:
- cheese enchiladas
- beans
- salad
Thursday:
David and I will be helping out at a fundraiser for a couple of political candidates. There will be beans, cornbread and cobbler. I’m making one of the pots of beans and bringing the iced tea. Oh, and real butter. An elderly woman in our group asked if there would be butter for her cornbread and I told I would most definitely make sure she had butter. 🙂
Friday:
- smothered pork chops
- rice (or mashed potatoes, maybe)
- whiskey-glazed carrots
- salad
Saturday:
A friend is performing in McAlester so we are going to the show. I think we’ll go early enough to have dinner at Pete’s Place. We plan to spend the night but since we have church the next morning we’ll need to bring our church clothes and drive straight there. Hopefully!
So what’s on your menu this week? Have you started transitioning to fall foods?
