Something to talk about…

December 5, 2009 By Deanna Piercy 11 Comments

Yesterday I was reading one of my favorite blogs, These Days in French Life (no longer available), and read something that made me sit up and and inwardly shout, “yes!”. Riana, the author of the blog, has undergone some major changes in the way she and her family choose to live their lives. I’ve read…

Christmas Bells…

December 4, 2009 By Deanna Piercy Leave a Comment

My friend, Jaci, posted this on her blog and I just had to share it. If only the whole world could experience Christmas peace every day of the year. a2a_linkname=”Tea With Dee”;a2a_linkurl=”http://teawithdee.blogspot.com/”;

Handel’s “Messiah”…

December 2, 2009 By Deanna Piercy Leave a Comment

The local university chorus, along with a number of singers from the community, performed Handel’s “Messiah” tonight and will again tomorrow night. I’ve had the pleasure of singing this incredible music several times over the years and it never loses its power. While the “Hallelujah Chorus” is the most recognizable, my favorite chorus is “Worthy…

Menu Plan Monday…

November 30, 2009 By Deanna Piercy Leave a Comment

This is going to be a crazy week. I have a two-hour rehearsal tonight for “The Messiah” and then performances Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The Gospel Truth…

“For I was hungry, while you had all you needed. I was thirsty, but you drank bottled water. I was a stranger, and you wanted me deported. I needed clothes, but you needed more clothes. I was sick, and you pointed out the behaviors that led to my sickness. I was in prison, and you…

Buy Nothing Day…

November 27, 2009 By Deanna Piercy 3 Comments

Click on graphic above for more information. Forget those Black Friday sales with the crowds of rude people pushing and shoving so they can buy “stuff”. Opt out, stay home and enjoy a quiet day with the people you love. Trust me…this is the better plan. a2a_linkname=”Tea With Dee”;a2a_linkurl=”http://teawithdee.blogspot.com/”;

The Advent Conspiracy…

November 17, 2009 By Deanna Piercy 2 Comments

I prefer to hold off on most Christmas stuff until after Thanksgiving. I like my holidays one at at time and it’s too easy to let the glitter of Christmas overwhelm the simplicity of Thanksgiving. For that reason, I don’t decorate before Thanksgiving. Well, I mean, I don’t put up Christmas decorations. I do have…
