He told me about it when he came upstairs to finish getting ready for work so of course I had to go check it out. I took that first photo through our needs-to-be-washed sliding glass door because I didn’t want to frighten it off by opening the door. It looked up and saw me but didn’t run off. I then very, very quietly slid the door open just enough for the camera lens and took these:
I watched for several minutes but there was no sign of its mother. That’s pretty unusual and I hope that doesn’t mean it’s an orphan. David teased me about trying to tame it if that were the case. Hmm…I could make it a pallet on the floor of our laundry room but it’s too big to go through the doggy door. Still…

That's a really precious moment. I hope it's not orphaned too. WOW look at your garden makes mine look like a postage stamp.
Isn't it wonderful? I sit and watch the deer in our back yard every day! They are so neat!
SJ: We haven't seen him again so I'm hoping he found his mama. We have 40 acres of mostly wooded land. It's a lot to take care of but it's beautiful.
April: We don't see them every day but whenever we do, we all stop whatever we are doing to watch.
