I love a delicious soup any time of the year but a steaming hot bowl of goodness seems especially appropriate as the weather begins to cool. It’s still really hot here in Oklahoma but it won’t be long before salads will give way to soups on many of our menus.
I decided to gather all of my soup recipe posts in one place for you. While searching the site I was reminded of the days I used to post recipes from friends. And LOTS of them shared soup recipes. One of these days I should recreate each of them, take photos and update the posts. But in the meantime I decided to go ahead and share the links “as is”.

Dee’s Soup Recipes
There is nothing quite so satisfying as a rich and creamy potato soup on a chilly evening. And if that soup includes lots of delicious smoked gouda cheese? All the better!
Cabbage Leek Diet Soup ~ An Instant Pot Recipe
Remember that old cabbage soup diet plan? Seven days of very specific food choices plus all the cabbage soup you want. And then there’s the Magical Leek Soup from Mireille Guiliano who wrote French Women Don’t Get Fat. This soup combines elements of both for a low calorie, yet tasty soup.
Corn Crab Bisque ~ New Orleans Style
I’m a sucker for rich and creamy soups. Add seafood to it and I’m sold. This is my take on a recipe for corn crab bisque I got from the New Orleans School of Cooking and it’s truly a keeper.
Smoked Gouda Potato Soup ~ An Instant Pot Recipe
As the weather gets cooler nothing satisfies quite like a steaming hot bowl of soup. Whether it’s a simple starter to a meal or a hearty version served as the main course, soup just hits the spot. Soup also happens to be one of my favorite things to make. If you are looking for a rich and filling bowl of yum you can’t go wrong with this Instant Pot version of Smoked Gouda Potato Soup.
There is something to be said for a good bowl of vegetable soup as part of a weight-loss plan. Or simply a tasty meal when you want something a bit lighter in calories.
Oyster Artichoke Soup ~ A Guest Post Recipe
I put out a call for recipe guest posts and was delighted when my friend Frank answered the call. He has shared some of his recipes with me in the past and as a New Orleans native you just know they are good!
From the “Olden Days” on my blog
This is from my old blog before I started blogging “seriously”. It doesn’t have a decent photo and the directions/quantities are vague. One of these days I’ll update it but if you’re an intuitive cook it will be easy enough to replicate, even from these directions.
Another of my old “recipes” – no picture and best suited to those who don’t need explicit instructions.
Vegetable Soup With Parmesan Dumplings
A fairly simple vegetable soup is taken up a notch with parmesan dumplings.
