Springtime, how do I love thee?

March 21, 2015 By Deanna Piercy 4 Comments

Today is the first day of Spring and I am delighted. Winter is always a struggle for me but as the days get longer and warmer I begin to perk up, just like these daffodils in our front yard:

Springtime also means a haircut for Shiloh:
Shiloh got his springtime haircut. #GreatPyrenees #dogsofinstagram
He always acts a little embarrassed at first but then he realizes how much cooler he is and loves it. And I love the reprieve from giant wads of white fur all over my dark green carpeting.
Happy 1st Day of Spring!

Happy spring! Our daffodils are blooming, too, and the tulips are slowly emerging. We had our Great Pyr shaved once. It was such a traumatic experience for him that we never did it again. One difference for us was he lived outside and the sun was too hard on his skin. But we did have to contend with those giant hair mats.

After a few days Shiloh always likes it. He's an indoor dog although he does enjoy lying on the front porch with the cats. He just gets too hot in the summer time. I do enjoy a few months reprieve from the blobs of hair on the floors.

I picked some of my few daffodils the other day and put them in the kitchen. So happy to have fresh flowers again.

I took one to Alex the other day but haven't picked any for myself yet. I should do that today!
