LWD SEPTEMBER BOOK CLUB SELECTIONS
- The Cozy Life: Rediscover the Joy of the Simple Things Through the Danish Concept of Hygge by Pia Edberg
Autumn arrives this month which means cooler temperatures and the gradual march toward what I think of as “indoor season”. I generally dread winter but this year I’m going to focus on the Danish concept of “hygge” which means coziness. I’ve been hearing about this a lot recently and I think this is the perfect time to read The Cozy Life.
2. A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf
I am embarrassed to admit I have never read this but I’m going to fix that. As an introvert, as well as a bit of a loner, I cannot imagine not having my own space to which I can retreat. I’ve pretty much claimed our library but it’s not set up for writing. My desk and computer are in our bedroom which is far from ideal. However, I’m in the process of turning one of the downstairs bedrooms into my office. Perhaps then I shall write the book I know I have inside.
5. The Light of Paris by Eleanor Brown
The other day I listened to one of Shannon Ables’ podcasts in which she interviewed Eleanor Brown, the author of The Light of Paris. I knew immediately that I must read this book. Not only because I’m a self-avowed Francophile but also because I LOVED Ms. Brown’s book, The Wierd Sisters. I cannot wait to dive into this one!
Happy reading, friends!

Nice selection there…
How are you doing with finishing up the reads from previous months?
Deanna Piercy says
Poorly, I’m afraid. Ha! I’ve got to make more time for reading.
Tori says
Perhaps, with Autumn basically here, and Winter on the way, you might get time to catch up on some reading?
Deanna Piercy says
I do hope so. I’m also beginning to schedule in short reading breaks throughout my day instead of just at bedtime.
