Welcome to the third week of October’s LWD Grocery Haul series in which I share our weekly grocery purchases, including prices. I’m always curious to see what others purchase and what food prices are in different countries or regions. I hope you are finding this series interesting and helpful.

A number of these items won’t be used this week.
For instance, I purchased the blackened sausage and Zatarain’s jambalaya mix to have on hand for a quick meal in the future (the sausage is in the freezer).
The large can of Veg All Vegetables can serve as the base for a quick vegetable soup and since it was on sale I thought it would a good thing to have in my pantry.
I also put the Hawaiian bread in the freezer. I think it will make good grilled sandwiches with ham, cheese and a slice of pineapple.
We just had grilled hot dogs last week so I wouldn’t have bought them again just now. However, my mom really enjoyed them and asked if I could “share” a package with her. She just wanted two. I figure I can use the others for a weekend lunch or quick dinner.
The frozen meatballs were on sale and I find them quite handy to keep on hand. I add part of the package to a jar of pasta sauce for an easy spaghetti & meatball dinner. My mom also loves this and I dish up individual portions for her to put in her freezer.
I didn’t go to Braum’s but I will run by later this week to get ground beef for our Friday night grilled burgers.
- ground chuck (1 lb.) $6.19
