LWD MARCH BOOK CLUB SELECTIONS
Sous Chef: 24 Hours on the Line
In this urgent and unique book, chef Michael Gibney uses twenty-four hours to animate the intricate camaraderie and culinary choreography in an upscale New York restaurant kitchen. Here readers will find all the details, in rapid-fire succession, of what it takes to deliver an exceptional plate of food—the journey to excellence by way of exhaustion.
Several years ago I read Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain and absolutely loved it. I’m looking forward to another behind-the-scenes look at a restaurant kitchen.
Letters From Skye
A sweeping story told in letters, spanning two continents and two world wars, Jessica Brockmole’s atmospheric debut novel captures the indelible ways that people fall in love, and celebrates the power of the written word to stir the heart.
In my post The Gift of a Letter, I shared links to several epistolary novels. I love these and am eager to read this one.
Decluttering at the Speed of Life
While the world seems to be in love with the idea of tiny houses and minimalism, many of us simply can’t purge it all and start from nothing. Yet a home with too much stuff is a home that is difficult to maintain, so where do we begin?
In my efforts to simplify my life this year, I’m decluttering and organizing my home. I love the “A Slob Comes Clean” podcast and was delighted to hear that she has a new book out. My copy arrived yesterday and I’ve already taken a peek.
Let me know if you plan to read any of these or if not, what you ARE reading this month.
What’s better than curling up with a good book and a delicious cup of tea? And when the tea is named “Reading Nook“? Perfection.

Yeah… That reading nook tea is just begging to be enjoyed while curled up with a good book. Have you ried it? If so, how is it?
I read some good books last month, a couple of which I think you’d enjoy. The first of the two I mentioned to you in reply to one of your newsletters, and the second is called a book by astranaught Scott Kelly that tells the story of his year in space. Both are mentioned on the book reviews post that will go up on my blog tomorrow.

Please excuse the typos in the previous comment. I was typing while Lilie was attempting to remove my socks (it’s cold here, hence the socks, and Lilie is obsessed with socks, so tries to remove them from your feet so she can claim them as her own). I’m sure you can appreciate how tricky typing is while a small dog is tugging at the socks you’re trying to keep on your feet.

Ha! Tricky but cute. 🙂

Sadly, I’m extremely allergic to ragweed and have been advised to avoid chamomile (one of that tea’s ingredients) because they are closely related. I have, however, tried several teas from that company and am extremely impressed with them. I just received two teas a couple of days ago that I’m eager to try.
I’ll be sure to check your reviews post. I have your email with the other book recommendation in my “correspondence” file. My goal is to catch up on replies this weekend. Wish me luck! Ha!

Yes… Tricky but cute about covers it. 😉
Sorry about the allergy thing. Glad other teas from the ompany are good though. Maybe I’ll see if I can get hold of some of that one… I don’t have camomile issues, and actually enjoy having it as an ingeedient in my teas. Plus, the tea sounds nice in general.
Good luck with the eMails. Haha! 😉

I’ll need it, ha! I had planned to finish half of the remaining letters in my challenge yesterday, half today. And half of the emails yesterday, half today. But we ended up going to the city to have dinner with our daughter and son-in-law and that was that. I’m in hyperdrive today so we’ll see…
