Welcome to the fourth week of October’s LWD Grocery Haul series in which I share our weekly grocery purchases, including prices. I’m always curious to see what others purchase and what food prices are in different countries or regions. I hope you are finding this series interesting and helpful.

I bought a few higher priced items this week such as the pot roast and large jar of honey. I should get a few meals out of the roast and maybe some to put in the freezer. I may shred enough for tacos next week.
The Italian sausage was supposed to be ground sausage like I had used in a pasta bake last week and was on sale. They were out, though, and my shopper asked if she could substitute for a package of 5 sausages. I didn’t realize it wasn’t also on sale (same brand) but that’s okay. The package does have 3 oz. more than the other one. I don’t have a specific plan for this but it should be easy enough to find a good recipe to try.
The family pack of chicken contains 3 huge breasts. I’ll just need one tonight for our tacos and the other two will go in the freezer for next week.

As always, I’m more aware than ever of how high food costs have gone, especially when seeing them in print. Ugh. Your menu looks tasty as always!

It’s really astounding, isn’t it? I could get better prices at Aldi’s but my mom is very particular about brands and it’s just easier to do our shopping in one store. I occasionally do an extra shop via Instacart from Aldi and stock up on a few things. I’m just grateful that we are in a position to afford groceries as I know there are so many who are struggling.
